Data Driven vs Data Inspired [Part 3 of 5]
Being Data Inspired
Data inspired is different.
Let me show you.
Data driven sees: "Sales dropped last month. Run Campaign X again."
Data inspired sees: "Sales drop every time we launch without testing messaging first."
Notice the difference?
Data-driven copy solutions. Data-inspired find principles.
You look at the same numbers but ask different questions.
Not "what did we do before?" But "what is this telling us?"
Not "how do we fix this?" But "why does this keep happening?"
Here's the same situation handled both ways.
Data-driven: A client complains about slow delivery. You expedite their order. Problem solved.
Data-inspired: A client complains about slow delivery. You ask why delivery times vary. You discover your process breaks down with custom work. You redesign the workflow.
Data-inspired teams see deeper patterns. They notice causes. They spot hidden connections.
But here's the problem.
This is harder. It takes more time. You might be wrong.
Data driven gives you a fast answer. Data inspired makes you think.
Most teams want a fast answer.
Smart people do this. We want certainty and solutions now.
We’re trapped, copying what worked before for the same results.
Again and again.
Why don't smart teams choose the better way?
